The Delavan Train Show is an annual The Delavan Train Show is a cherished annual event in downtown Delavan, Wisconsin, celebrating the captivating world of model railroading. Scheduled the second weekend in March, the show offers free admission and is designed to delight train enthusiasts and families alike.

Attendees can explore a diverse array of model train layouts in various scales, showcased across multiple venues including the Delavan American Legion Hall, City Hall, and other downtown businesses. These exhibits feature interactive elements such as buttons to operate accessories, scavenger hunts, and opportunities for visitors to control the trains themselves. Children can enjoy a 'trackless' train ride at Tower Park, and a trolley service is available to transport guests between locations. Visitors receive a "train ticket" to be punched at each exhibit, with completed tickets entered into prize drawings. Additionally, a vendor fair hosted by MD Trains will be held at the Baymont Inn & Suites, offering model train merchandise.

The Delavan Train Show provides a family-friendly atmosphere, combining the charm of small-town festivities with the intricate artistry of model railroading.

Brick Street Day is an annual celebration honoring the city's rich history, vibrant arts scene, and strong sense of community. Centered around the historic vitrified brick street on Walworth Avenue—constructed in 1913 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places —the event transforms the area into a lively festival filled with entertainment, art, and family-friendly activities.

The festivities typically feature live performances, including aerial acts by Cream City Circus, dance showcases by local groups like Toe to Toe Dance Company, and engaging shows by entertainers such as Circus Boy Bobby Hunt. Attendees can enjoy live art demonstrations, including chalk art by renowned artists like Beth Zwolski Tobias, also known as "The Chalk Girl" . Children's activities have included story hours hosted by the Aram Public Library and interactive performances.

In 2022, Brick Street Day coincided with Delavan's 125th anniversary, expanding the celebration to include historical tours, a Hall of Fame ceremony, and the release of a special "Brick Street Red Ale" by Duesterbeck’s Brewing Co. The day concluded with a free concert at Phoenix Park.

Brick Street Day offers a unique opportunity to experience Delavan's heritage and community spirit, making it a must-attend event for residents and visitors alike.

Scarecrow Fest is a beloved annual event held each September where we fill the brick road with craft vendors, artists, and food vendors to create a community event that captures the essence of fall in Wisconsin.

The festival's centerpiece is the Scarecrow Walk, where creatively crafted scarecrows—designed by local businesses and organizations—line the historic brick-paved streets. Visitors can stroll through downtown, admire these whimsical displays, and vote for their favorites.

Beyond the scarecrows, the event offers a variety of attractions:

  • DIY Scarecrow Kits for attendees to build their own.
  • Free pumpkins for children.
  • Guided Walldog Mural Tours highlighting Delavan's rich history.
  • Live music performances by local bands.
  • A petting zoo featuring animals like sheep and bearded dragons.
  • Food trucks and vendors offering a range of treats.
  • Craft and vendor markets with unique handmade goods.

The day concludes with a free evening concert at the Phoenix Park Bandshell, providing entertainment for all ages.

Delavan Dasher Days is an annual holiday celebration bringing festive cheer to the community each December. Held on the second and third Saturdays in December—the event offers a variety of family-friendly activities and shopping opportunities.

Visitors can enjoy stocking stuffer deals at local businesses, joyful caroling, and a community window decorating contest. Santa Claus makes special appearances, delighting children and families. Additional attractions have included horse-drawn carriage rides, cookie walks, and live caroling by local groups such as the La Luz del Mundo Church choir and DDHS choir. We also were excited to introduce our Christmas Market hosted by the Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at the American Legion Hall.

Delavan Dasher Days captures the spirit of the season, encouraging residents and visitors to shop local and partake in the town's festive atmosphere.
